By ADAM RUSSELLStaff WriterLeaders from past jail bond advocacy and opposition groups gathered inside the Courthouse Annex for an 11 a.m. public announcement of their intent to seek a vote of yes in November.The "Finally! Former opposition and advocacy leaders Bobby Curtis and Herb Buie, respectively, addressed the media and the small gathering of bond supporters and consultants including State Sen. Kevin Eltife, R-Tyler.Eltife acted as mediator after the $126 million bond failed during the last November election and worked with Buie, Curtis, Commissioner JoAnn Fleming and County Judge Joel Baker to find a consensus jail plan.Curtis and Buie believe this plan has a consensus and will pass.Curtis said he has always felt a new jail was needed but that the last bond was not in the best interest of the community. Akron Civic rocks in officer's tribute

REQUIRED SECTION. No. A rock concert tribute to slain Twinsburg police officer Josh Miktarian meant different things to those who gathered at the Akron Civic Theatre Saturday night. Before taking the stage with his fellow band members, Pat Hill said it felt cathartic. I have a feeling a lot of us are going to feel a bit of relief,'' he said. When Miktarian was killed, ''we couldn't do anything. There was nothing to do but grieve,'' he said. Hill is the bassist for Barium, a grunge band Miktarian co-founded with drummer Daniel Boland. Miktarian was shot and killed during a late-night traffic stop on July 13. The 33-year-old officer left behind wife Holly and their infant daughter, Thea. Profits from the event, as well as from a raffle of baskets donated by a dozen sponsors, will benefit Miktarian's family. The use of the Civic was donated.
